A meeting was organized between the ACIF members and Director of FIA and his team on 19th July 2008 in Karachi regarding how FIA can assist in reducing the menace of counterfeit and infringement.

On 7th July 2008 ACIF issued a supplement in DAWN newspaper covering the significant issue of IPRs to raise awareness on the need for enforcement of the rights.

ACIF took part in the IP walk on 26th April to celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day. The walk was a success due to the active participation of 300 intellectuals from all walks of life.

ACIF organised a workshop in Multan on 10 th May, 2007, titled “ Role of Media in Projecting Legal Business Practices & IPRs in Pakistan ”

The workshop was attended by a large number of participants representing media. Mr. Moeen-ud-din Riaz, Punjab Minister for Sports was the chief guest. The speakers highlighted the deplorable state of enforcement of IP laws in Pakistan and the singular role of mass media in creating awareness about this critical issue.

ACIF has been acknowledged as the national organisation on IPRs at the International Chamber of Commerce site on BASCAP.
